EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Target Audience

This course is for social work, health, education and residential practitioners as well as foster carers who have regular contact or carry out direct work with young people.

Aims:

  • Raise awareness of how young people can be subjected to exploitation and the impact of their experiences.
  • Consider how practitioners can help to prevent different types of exploitation.
  • Equip practitioners to recognise and respond to exploitation and best support those affected.

Before attending, you should make yourself familiar with the Edinburgh Inter‑agency Guidance on Child Sexual Exploitation

NOTE: If you area colleague of the City of Edinburgh Council you must have previously completed – Public Protection General Contact Workforce on My Learning Hub. 

NHS Lothian staff should be up to date with mandatory Public Protection (foundation) and Child Protection (advanced) NHS Learnpro modules.
