Advanced skills in assessing and managing risk in Child Protection

Target Audience

Intensive Workforce.  This is aimed at experienced staff part of the Intensive level workforce, particularly practitioners working closely with children and families who regularly participate in the assessment of risk and contribute to the child planning process.

This is for workers who have previously completed the two-day risk assessment course, OR experienced child protection workers.

Aim

To refresh and update on current policy, practice and child planning skills.

Content

Using an interactive approach, the session will provide an update on current policy and explore themes such as engaging with clients that services find hard to reach, professional curiosity and improving analysis in assessments. The afternoon session will focus primarily on child planning skills.
