INTER-AGENCY RISK ASSESSMENT
Target Audience
Practitioners who have regular, direct involvement with children, young people and their families and who are likely to be contributing to assessment of needs and risk, child’s planning meetings, child protection case conferences and core groups.
Aim
To promote a clearer understanding of agency roles and responsibilities within the context of child protection.
Content
Using an interactive approach you will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of child protection processes, decision-making and effective joint working to protect and promote best outcomes for children and young people at risk.Â
Learning Outcomes:
- Define the national and local context for child protection.
- Describe the roles of different agencies and professionals.
- Discuss the child protection process and apply the relevant procedures.
- Explain concepts of risk assessment and implications for planning.
- Apply key principles for the appropriate sharing of information.
NOTE: This is a 2 full-day course and both days should be attended.
