CHILD PROTECTION: Specific Contact Workforce

NHS employees should be up to date with their mandatory Public Protection (foundation) Module and Child Protection (advanced) Modules.

Approval from NHS line managers is required prior to booking training.


Target Audience

This 3-hour session is for anyone working with children and families in Edinburgh who needs to understand their roles and responsibilities when worried about children.  Please note this is not for those who will attend Child Protection Planning Meetings or are the Child Protection Lead in their setting

Aim

To promote a clearer understanding of agency roles and responsibilities within the context of child protection.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand and be able to apply relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Understand their role.
  • Understand issues of consent and confidentiality.
  • Understand signs and symptoms of different types of abuse/neglect

Content

Using an interactive approach you will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of signs of harm, the key child protection processes to protect and promote best outcomes for children and young people at risk.
