Target Audience:

Head Teachers, Deputes and Designated Members of Staff for Child Protection in Secondary, Primary and Special Schools who have already completed the full day Managing Child Protection in a School Setting – Intensive Contact Workforce.

Aims and Outcomes:

Understand the current legislation and procedures relating to Child Protection.

The enhancement of participants’ skills to screen information, apply thresholds and take appropriate action.

Participants to have a clear understanding of the procedures relating to an allegation against a member of staff.

Participants to be familiar with strategies to ensure the online safety of pupils.

  • Consideration of current context for Child Protection.
  • Input on role and responsibilities.
  • Exploration of case studies to consider responses to various child protection issues.
  • Input on the Policy relating to allegations against staff.
  • Input/discussion about digital safety issues.
