RISK OF NEGELCT TOOLKIT WORKSHOP

Target Audience

This training is open to all professionals who work directly with children and families across Edinburgh such as Health Visitors, Midwives, Social Work staff, Youth Workers, Early Years and Schools staff and Third Sector organisations.

Aims

This workshop aims to offer an introductory session to the Risk of Neglect toolkit and how it can support assessment in practice when working with families, children, and young people.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand neglect and the different types a child or young person might experience.
• Gain a picture of child neglect in Scotland.
• Improve awareness of the impact of neglect across the lifespan.
• Improve awareness of risk factors for child neglect.
• Understand what professional challenges exist in identifying and responding to neglect.
• Provide an opportunity for people to get to know the toolkit and how it should be used in practice.
