Any professional in contact with adults and/or children.

Aims:

• To raise awareness of the risk of domestic homicide in the context of domestic abuse. To support professionals to understand the risk assessment process for referring to the MARAC and how to discuss safeguarding and risk management with victims and survivors.

Content:

This session involves storytelling and audience participation. It tells the story of Myra who finds herself trapped in a relationship that becomes increasingly abusive over time. It explains the links between domestic abuse and the risks of domestic homicide and how professionals can enquire about, and respond to, domestic abuse.
