WORKING IN A PARTNER PROVIDER SETTING

Target Audience:

All staff working in Partner Provider Centre nurseries and playgroups.

Aims and Outcomes:

• To update staff on current context of Child Protection Legislation and Procedures.
• To give staff an understanding of abuse and neglect including types and signs of.
• For staff to understand their role and responsibility in the Child Protection process.

Content:

• Develop an awareness of the local and national context of child protection.
• Describe the definitions, categories and alerting signs of abuse.
• Recognise their role and responsibility in responding to child protection concerns.
• Describe the referral process and procedures, including recording of concerns.

Further Information:

This course has been designed for nursery and playgroup staff who work in partner provision with the City of Edinburgh Council.
It is aimed at providers with smaller staff groups, (less than 12), who cannot access our on-site provision or where there is only the need for one or a few staff needing trained.
